Here is a look back at Odoo Experience 2024 and the introduction of the latest Odoo version: 18
Odoo Experience in Brussels was well attended: over 35,000 participants from more than 150 different countries. dooIT was present this year with 8 people so we could see even more What's new sessions.My impression? Odoo was already suitable for SMEs in the Netherlands and is now also becoming that for internationals.
Of course, we all attended the introduction of version 18 by CEO Fabian Pinckaers again: impressive! Take your time and be amazed by his demonstration of:
* counting inventory via RF scanning of items (a stack and a rack of t-shirts)
* use of AI in creating (and translating) content for websites
* spreadsheet calculator voor offertes (wauw!),
* more (beautiful) layouts
*(incredibly handy!) project toolbar and Gantt view

Fast, easy & complete Accounting is a main goal for Odoo, therefore, during the introduction of version 18 by Wynand Tastenhoye, all new functionalities were explained. You may have read my LinkedIn posts such as:
* 7,000 extra bank connections available and if you still miss a bank, just drag your PDF to Odoo bank book and voila, the transactions are scanned and booked
* Show PDFs of invoices on your second screen and let them run along with the bookings on your first screen
* Budgets now as a standard column in the reports and can be adjusted directly.
* Managing loans with repayments
* Full legislation support in 79 countries (including the Netherlands)
* IFRS support

When will version 18 be available for you?
Version 18
is now being used worldwide for demonstrations. After that - early 2025 - Odoo SA itself will switch
to version 18. If this goes satisfactorily, we expect that around March 2025 the new version can be
requested live by Odoo ONLINE users. A few months later for
all Odoo.sh users.

Free up budget to switch with us to version 18 in the spring
If you request a new version, you will see a test environment of that latest version in your database overview. Important advice: test it well! Because Odoo likes to look ahead in software development and does not let itself be held back by ''old'' situations/functions. We therefore advise you to free up a budget for the Odoo maintenance plan to switch together with us to version 18.
