Niels Rietveld

Implementation Consultant

From commerce to consultancy: Niels' growth journey

After seven years in the commercial sector, Niels decided in February 2022 to change course and dive into a completely new field: consultancy. A conscious choice, but also a significant switch. “I was used to being the one with all the product knowledge,” he says. “It takes some getting used to starting completely at the bottom of the ladder again. But that's part of learning something new.”

The learning curve does not deter Niels—in fact, quite the opposite. Thanks to intensive training from colleagues, the Visma Academy, and obtaining various certificates, he now feels more confident in his role. "I can solve more and more customer queries independently. That gives me the feeling that I am truly adding value. And that is exactly what I love about my job."

Meanwhile, Niels has grown into a consultant. In this role, he implements business software for clients and guides them step by step in optimizing their processes. “What I appreciate is that I get a lot of responsibility in projects. I can independently develop solutions and advise clients on how to best use our software. And if I run into something, I can always brainstorm with colleagues. That teamwork and independence make my work so valuable.”

Jos van Willegen

Senior Implementation Consultant

From intern to senior consultant: Jos knows what clients need

Ten years ago, Jos started at eServiceware as a Junior Support Consultant with a clear ambition: to advance to consultancy. "I had known for a while that I wanted to pursue this field, but many companies required years of experience. I didn't have that yet. When I saw this position with growth opportunities, I knew: this is my chance."

Meanwhile, Jos is a senior consultant and helps organizations daily with implementing and optimally utilizing business software. “The best part of my job? Really helping and making clients happy. That’s where I get the most satisfaction.”

In 2019, Jos was awarded Consultant of the Year — an achievement he is still proud of. “I will never forget that moment. It was a wonderful recognition for the work I do with great pleasure.”

What makes eServiceware so special according to Jos? “The atmosphere is personal and engaged. You really know your colleagues, and newcomers are quickly integrated into the team. This makes the work not only enjoyable but also effective.” He describes it as having a 'Rotterdam character': honest, direct, and down-to-earth. “No fuss, just working together and getting things done.”

Everything is designed.
